Holiday Kindness

November 18, 2014 by jennacrews

It’s only halfway through November but everyone seems to be getting into the holiday spirit.  So, Make BC Smile has decided to kick-off the season with some free Starbucks for the people of Maple Ridge!  We purchased a couple gift cards and left them at the till to be used as people come in tonight.

We figured we would take the chance to give you a few things you can do this holiday to spread kindness and make our province of British Columbia SMILE!

Free Coffee
Go to your local coffee shop and purchase a gift card to leave with the cashier.  Let them know to use it as customers get their drinks so they can tell them it’s already paid for.  It’s an easy way to make a few people’s day, and sometimes customers pay it forward by also leaving a gift card.

Holiday Baking
Visit your local seniors home, homeless shelter, fire department, or police station and deliver some holiday baking. You can either pick some treats up or put together your own.  If you’re looking for something to do with friends, this is a really fun way to spend the day!

During the holiday season, there are even more ways to help out in your community.  Help out with the Christmas hamper, ring the salvation army bell to collect donations, or collect donations for the food bank.  See what opportunities are available near you!

As always, we would love for you to share your photos or ideas with us!  Please send them along!
